Every customer needs to know that our liability for damages is limited.
Please read the following and select an option before the move. Option 1 will apply, unless you select Option 2 or 3 and pay an extra fee.
OPTION 1: BASIC LIABILITY By law, moving companies automatically assume a basic level of liability for items that are moved. This coverage, provided at no extra charge to the customer, is limited to the lesser of fifty dollars per item or carton, or sixty cents per pound, per item or carton, regardless of an item's actual value. (The fifty-dollar limit also applies to any damages caused to floors, walls, or other parts of buildings in which the move is conducted.) This is the limit of our liability for damages, unless you decide to pay extra for Declared Value Protection. This option may be appropriate if you are adequately covered with your own insurance. However, you may wish to purchase Declared Value Protection (below).
OPTION 2: DECLARED VALUE PROTECTION (NO DEDUCTIBLE) For an extra charge, we will increase our level of liability. Your cost for this increased protection is $7.50 for each $1,000.00 of the shipment's declared value. Under this option, damages to buildings are covered for full repair cost, up to the declared value of the shipment. Goods being moved are covered for the full replacement cost of any damaged item, to a maximum of $20.00 per pound, per item. To exercise this option you must declare a value for the whole shipment at a rate of at least $5.00 per pound (using 7 pounds per cubic foot). Coverage is available for declared values between $4,000.00 and $50,000.00.
OPTION 3: DECLARED VALUE PROTECTION ($100.00 DEDUCTIBLE) This protection is similar to option 2. Your cost is $4.00 per $1,000.00 (rather than $7.50 per $1,000.00) but claims are subject to a $100.00 deductible charge.

Coverage is for the full repair or replacement cost of any damaged item, to a maximum of 20 dollars per pound for each article or carton, but claims are subject to a $100 deductible charge. If damage is less than $100, no money will be refunded by the mover. Maximum coverage is $50,000.
